Not So Random Thoughts
So it’s been a while since I have been Consuming a LOT of content for Creating SOME.
But the process has been absolutely worth the time and attention. I can’t tell you enough how much I have learned in the past 6 months without paying much. 95% of it is completely free and readily available for everyone online.
The problem with the internet is this — everything is scattered. It’s hard to make sense of all the information you find online. Say if you want to learn about Entrepreneurship, a number of ebooks, videos, articles are available which are no doubt, excellent but not packaged well.
Sensemaking happens when we get things on a platter or they are stacked up like plates in the buffet or if they come like an Amazon package. To be specific, a course, selling ideas in a packet looks more attractive to learn a skill or generally to move from point A to point B.
In the times of Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, (and ex-tiktok) we are wired to consume information in bytes — in bits and pieces. And that actually makes sense. Though the package serves as a product, byte-sized information helps us to become better curators of our own learning.
With the idea of sharing byte-sized content, I started YouTubing this year. Thanks to all those who subscribed till now. If you haven’t please do check it out and subscribe if you like my content.
But as you know, I am fond of writing Facebook posts or articles like these. Facebook, unfortunately, is not letting me reach a wider audience. And it has become really difficult to keep track of my Facebook friend list and news feed. Good people and good ideas are getting missed in the chaos. Even on Medium, it’s difficult to be discoverable.
That’s the reason I decided to approach my writing a bit differently. I am starting an Email Newsletter, which will be delivered directly to your inbox once a week.
The idea is to just share good ideas I gathered from reading books, articles, taking a few courses and watching videos, share a few reflections and things that might interest you or add to your dose of byte-sized learnings.
You can reply to the email newsletter and that’s how we can have a good conversation or brainstorm a few ideas with each other skipping all the chaos of Facebook newsfeed and messenger — really bad at handling it, I swear!
With this newsletter, I am giving you free access to my personal library, the one which I have created over the last 12 years putting in an infinite number of hours into reading, curating content, writing Medium articles and Facebook posts and for sure putting in a hell lot of money into buying 100s of books, subscriptions of variety of online platforms providing excellent content and courses that I take online (quite frequently) plus the processing and curation I do to the content I consume spending hours into it.
So yes, there are a couple of updates from my side -
Let’s keep Learning, Sharing and Growing!
